Rubina Nafees Fatima –Founder President & CEO
Rubina was a successful business entrepreneur in training and placements for the travel/tourism industry for seven years. In her previous roles she has volunteered and been on the board of various social ventures. She as a graduate from Osmania University in Hyderabad with training in social entrepreneurship (Center for Social Initiatives and Management, Hyd), business planning (Social-Impact, USA) and livelihood initiatives (Akshara, Hyd). Rubina was also been awarded the Sadguru Gnananda Fellowship 2010 for Women Social Entrepreneurs. She has been featured in many publications and was on the jury for evaluating the Global Social Venture competition (GSVC – 2010). She also gives guest lectures in various colleges on social ventures and issues.
Fareesa Khan – Vice President
A founder member and currently VP, Fareesa is an Arts graduate from Osmania University with a post-graduation in public relations. She has been at the management level in the business and sales operations of a multinational company since 15 years. Fareesa has worked in diverse areas from operations to sales and finance. She completed a NGO management course with CSIM Hyderabad, and also actively involved in fund raising, networking and public relations strategy. She has contributed effectively to various other voluntary organizations in the past With Safa since inception.
M A MAJID – TREASURER
Mr M A Majid an Aeronautical engineer is associated with safa since 2007. He plays a vital role in our team as a treasurer he is responsible for maintaining financial accounts of the society, providing the financial reports and also liaising with other organizations within the society.
SUMATHI GANESH – GENERAL SECRETARY
Women on Boards provide an overview of ‘all you need to know’. Sumathi Ganesh a multi-talented & energetic woman in our team associated with Safa since 2013. She is a teacher as well as craftswomen with an experience of 8+ years, who is actively involved with our production team in designing and developing.
T V Sushant – Executive Member
Associated with Safa since 2007, Sushant is an engineer and has experience of five years in project management and operations in a commercial venture. Operations, sales and networking skills are his main area of expertise.
Mohd Shahid- Executive Member
Associated with Safa since 2014, Mohd Shahid Associate Professor at Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad. His special focus is working marginalized groups and also specialized in RCH (reproductive and child health), minorities, and the politics of development. Currently, He is experimenting with the theoretical frames of hegemony, commonsense and structural violence.
Advisory council:K L Srivastava
M. Tech. (IIT Kharagpur) is a specialist in natural resource management and sustainable rural development. After working as a university teacher in Orissa and as senior scientist at ICRISAT Hyderabad, he has been working in the NGO sector in AP for over twelve years. Since June 2006, he is heading the Center of Social Initiative and Management (CSIM) Hyderabad where he also teaches courses in NGO Management and Social Entrepreneurship. He has also taught social entrepreneurship courses at ICFAI School of Public Policy and International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad. In addition, he is Nodal Director of the CHILDLINE Project for assisting and protecting disadvantaged children in Hyderabad. In these roles, he has been interacting with several NGOs and business schools for promoting social entrepreneurship concepts and tools for improving social work practice.
Marja van den Ouden
Marja works as director in human resource management in the Netherlands and has over 15 years of experience in this field. She has been connected with Safa since 2009 and is, along with Angela Baas, supporting the organization through commercial, promotional and fundraising activities. Marja visits Safa each year for support.
Maria is now established in London as a self-employed professional providing high end consultancy services to companies such as EY and HSBC. Before moving to London Maria worked for the World Bank in Washington on Financial Inclusion related projects. Maria previously worked for Hewlett-Packard for 12 years which give the opportunity to live and work in 3 continents and 6 countries, among them India, where she met SAFA. Maria holds an MPA on International Development Economics by Columbia University (NYC, USA), an MBA on General Management by ISB (Hyderabad, India) and a Masters on Telecommunications Engineering by Valladolid University (Spain).
